All of us could be players on the world stage, nevertheless the question remains why we show the psychological responses to the happenings depicted from the fiction, whether in print or visual presentation, like in real life? Just like dreams our imaginations become presented to us on the mental screen as though we were watching television or movies. And as in dreams the actual world gets supplanted by the imagined virtual world although we are fully alert. That world still has great resemblance to the actual one and everything happening in it appears real as a result of something changing in our cognition faculty. But the mechanism which triggers our psychological responses stays unchanged and consequently we respond to this fiction in precisely the same manner as in actual life.
Here we have some similarity with the virtual reality of the modern computer technology, which can be an artificial environment created by applications. It is introduced to the audience in this manner that the individual temporarily suspends own opinion pattern and takes it as a real environment. In ways it is not different from the occurrence of being transported to the imagined world of fiction, except that the computer performing the task is in the mind and we don’t have any clue regarding what is the applications and who’s the programmer.
This brings us into the reason for psychological reaction itself. In respect to fiction that the most frequent emotions are likes and dislikes that could turn into their more powerful types of hate and love. In real life we love or hate someone because of a few attachment through kinship, friendship, or even through indirect understanding of the individual. One cannot love or hate a person a person does not know at all. Attachment can also be on other living beings, material things, and to imaginary things. We love or hate a story or even a notion. For a typical person it’s impossible to live unattached to items in the world. If a person is able to eliminate attachment, one unites the rank of educated souls who are indeed rare. We carry our capacity and desire for attachment even into the imaginary world of fiction. We see the characters that we come to understand as the story progresses, shape our preferences, and respond in precisely the identical manner as in real life except that we cannot socialize with them physically. But we do socialize together in our minds and hearts from where the emotions come. As we have just mentioned, additional reading is something that cannot be ignored – or at least should never be ignored. We do understand very well that your situation is really important and matters a great deal. So we feel this is just an excellent time to take a break and assess what has just been covered. This is the sort of content that people need to know about, and we have no problems stating that. As usual, we generally save the very best for last.
The fact is that at a certain sense is fiction. Just like a narrative it’s a beginning, an end, and plenty of things in between. We don’t know who writes this fiction nor will ever know. Thus we have an innate affinity with fiction and cannot completely detach ourselves from it. And perhaps that’s the reason why, while studying or viewing fiction we get lost subconsciously in the wonderland of imagination, but for that brief period we operate exactly in precisely the exact same manner as we would in the real world of our understanding. In that sense fiction is just invented reality.
Theme is the reason fiction matters, because it’s the quality that provides the story a universal appeal. Some state theme is exactly what the story is all about, but that is too ephemeral a definition, which might get confused with the idea or the storyline.
Theme enriches and inspires the reader while saying something profound about the human state. Theme is the abstract concept behind the narrative forming the story’s heart and soul which the exposition, dialogue, and action reflect every chance they get.
Theme is not the characters or the storyline or the first idea that started the narrative. By way of instance, a writer may start with the idea of exploring family connections between women, but as his story progresses, his theme may appear as forgiveness and understanding between different generations of females. There are some topics on which it is very hard to write any kind of story.
Theme is implied, occasionally without the author’s understanding of it in the start; nonetheless, more experienced authors typically work on their subject harder than any other part of the narrative as soon as they grab on to what it is they are writing about.
In non-fiction, the author is suggested to hone in to his subject and begin referring to it at the first paragraph. In fiction, on the other hand, the theme generally blossoms through the writing as the narrative progresses.
